My intention is to do a self portrait - hopefully this weekend if i can get organized - but before I do I wanted to post this. There's a lot happening in this photos but i've yet to take a picture of the portrait on it's own. That was Rizzo and my apt in van, that was the art wall, which always had masonite and canvas and MDF lined along it and art supplies spewing from dense right near to wall to a shoreline of walkable floor a few feet away.

I did this portrait in maybe 10 or 15 minutes. It felt reallllly good. I had a good but weird and unexpected day. Came home, took the mirror off Rizzos wall and sat and did it. It's the big ugly childlike face. I don't know how much it 'looks' like me technically, but it works. I'd say it's one of my fav self portraits. The morning i had to fly back home Rizzo and I had to score it, then snap it in half to fit it in my suitcase, which was symbolic i think of having to come home.

Anyways, finally I have something to post! More soon hopefully.

Re: October Self Portraits

Interesting topic, especially since I can't seem to figure out what I look like. I occasionally do self portraits for practise, and each of em look like some other person. I can draw other people just fine, but when it comes to my face I am confused. Pepperoni said this one looked pretty close.

October Self Portraits

Sure, October's got Thanksgiving, Hallowe'en, Oktoberfest and I think New Years is somewhere around the 17th, but forget about all of that nonsense...
We need a BBQ rallying cry, something everyone can get behind...
SELF PORTRAITS!
So here's me, Corey, AND in fall colours no less!
...uh, but that's not necessary, just one of the many products of my boundless wisdome.

Summer in Alberta

Well, like Jessica said, we went to Alberta.
And, after putting up with plane rides...

Car rides...

Annoying waterfalls and mountain views...

My patience was finally rewarded, and I got to see DINOSAURS!!!

...some of them even still had their feathers attached!!

SUPER LATE SEPTEMBER TOPIC

Yeah, how about "What I Did On My Summer Vacation"?
This summer, Corey, his mom and I went to Alberta to visit his angry brother. We camped at the provincial park of Jasper. There, with my entire studio in a bag, I painted a few tiny acrylic paintings with 'prolly only 5 colours. It was a beautiful place, really. You have to go there sometime.

Day Lilies

My favourite part of Summer has got to be these guys...
There's about three weeks (which is just now ending) when they're everywhere...
Everywhere, I tells ya!

Anyhow, when they're around I go for broke drawing them, cause, well, anyone?
HA! They won't be back till next year! Genius!!

And I gotta say it's fantastic to see other people BBQing again...
It was getting weird here all alone... I think Corey was plotting to kill me.
He's a crazy.
But no more of that!! HURRAAAAYYY!!

Ghosts, ghosts, and more ghosts...

Well, it's the 16th already, and we need a new topic for this month.
And, well, since it's such a ghost-town here, how about ghosts?

What do you think, Corey?

...

I hate it when you do that. Ghosts it is.

Loon Lake

I awoke to find myself in Algonquin Park on the long weekend when I ran into a couple of loons. A LOON COUPLE, if you will...
HA!
Well anyhow, they were calling back and forth to each other from across the lake (me and my tiny canoe in the middle), and I heard that the majestic Loon just so happens to mate for life.
...Ok, well it turns out that the part about mating for life is only half true, but it still makes for a very nice story, and I think a very nice bird couple.

P.S.
Tomorrow is the 1st, mes amis...
...y'know, if anyone is actually out there.
(Psssst... that's a challenge... PEACE!)

Opposites Attract?

So it's Bird Couples, huh?
Well, the flamingo is probably the most beautiful bird out there, and the turkey is by far the ugliest...
So what if these two got together for... COFFEE?
HA!

DUCK--!!!

All right, Bird Couples it is!!
And before you ask, yes. Yes that definitely includes one kind of bird eating another.
That's a couple.
...maybe not an ideal couple, but...

HA! Alright!
And really? This is that White Cardinal (drawn just after it flew away), but I always thought that the females were just a duller red? Huh.
To be honest, I thought it was a rare Pokemon.

Oh, and this drawing doesn't count... I'LL BE BACK!!!

Ya know there Corey my man, I'm not too sure what the next time should be. I thought about it and I got nothing. I say we make Linds do it. LINDS, DO IT.

Café

Alas, I am having difficulty with caffeine lately. I love me a cappuccino so much that I will endure the side-effects every now and then. Since we came back home from Italy, I've been searching for that taste.

Futures Cafe, Toronto: B, sometimes a C
Stoney's Bread Company, Oakville: B-

One time at Futures they burnt the cappuccino. I was sad.
A nice cappuccino is a special thing.

Coffee, Everyone?

Oh, hello... didn't see you there.
So I was drinking COFFEE the other day and thought about all the wonderful wittle ways coffee makes it's way into my cup. Mug. Into my mug.

...is it getting hot in here, or is it just the BARBECUE?!?!

HOORAAAY!!!

Hey BBQ fans!
Thanks for comin out!!
I hope everyone is having a good time, getting enough to eat...
(I know I am!)
Speaking of which, we've been dancing the Dino jig for about a month now, what say we get ourselves a BRAND NEW topic of discussion??
And hey, this just happens to be the first of the month, why not have a new topic EVERY MONTH?!?
(...did he plan this all along?)

Anyhow, the Dinosaur thing was my idea, and we all know they will continue to live on in our hearts and musuems, so let's get them critters on out of here and open up the floor to someone else...

Well?
Anyone?
HA!
How about this folks... you with me?
I say we make the next topic on a first come, first serve basis:
The first lovely BBQ'er to come up with something gets the accolades!

HA!
I can't wait!!

Man, this is fun!!!
